Corn Maiden

US$245.00

This material (cow horn) took a while to figure out, but I am very happy with the end result. There is a corn maiden emerging from a cornmeal bowl. You can see the traditional "step" designs for the cornmeal bowl, and four ears of corn representing north (gold-lip Mother of Pearl), west (Kingman Turquoise), south (Apple coral), and east (white Mother of Pearl). Inside the bowl is also a bed of crushed turquoise. The corn maiden has sterling silver eyes&mouths and a turquoise necklace, and is wearing the tablitha that our female dancers wear during the harvest celebrations.

This piece measures 4⅛" tall, and 1¾" at its widest.
