Corn Maiden
US$270.00
Here's another corn maiden piece that I carved out of cow (bull) horn. It shows a corn maiden emerging from a cornmeal bowl, with ears of corn situated in the bowl representing four of our six directions... north (gold-lip Mother of Pearl), west (Kingman turquoise), south (apple coral), and east (white Mother of Pearl). Within the bowl is also a bed of crushed turquoise. The corn maiden is wearing the headdress which is worn by females during the harvest dance. She has inlaid sterling silver eyes&mouth and a turquoise necklace.
This one stands 4⅝" tall, and 1⅝" at its widest.
